Wind
energy has been used by man since the earliest times for driving sailing ships
and powering windmills, which ground corn and irrigated the fields. Holland
is famous for it's windmills which drained vast areas of water logged, low
lying land and made it available to be used as fertile farm land. Sailing
ships have enabled man to explore, map and colonise the world for over a thousand
years.
